REFLECTION TASK 1B

     I think , most of us haven't seen the name of Alper   Canıgüz  at  the bookstore . He is a new author joining our literature. I want to mention about him . He was born in İstanbul . He started  his education there.Initially , he told  his stories to his friends of neighbourhood  . Later , he studied psychology in Bosphorus University . He decided to write his stories . However his way of writing style is a little bit different. For example , when he was mentioned about Kafka , he told that once upon  a time I realized that Franz Kafka could make up stories as well as me. However , it lasted short time because I am young and he was dead. When he was in his thirties , he finished his one book at last. The name of this book is

‘’ Tatlı Rüyalar ‘’ .

 

Day by day , he gave importance to his writing and he continued to flourish his ability. His writing style is affected by important writers such as Jules Verne, Michel Zevaco, Dostoyevski, Calvino, Nabokov and   Fowles . 

In addition to ‘’Tatlı Rüyalar ‘’ he added some books to his collection . They are ‘’ Alper Kamu Cehennem Çiçeği ‘’

Now , He has been wiriting new book by the help of his daughter . I think , this new will deserve to be read like others . But initailly people should realize this author. Go to a bookstore and browse  these books immediately. 

     POEM :

I used to rule ' City of Hamburgers '
I would get a lot of hamburgers when I wanted to eat hamburger and fries.
Now in the morning I was hungry.
Before I eat all the hamburgers , I used to have a lot of hamburgers 
I used to have fries.
Listen as the crowd would say '' we are hungry. ''
Now I prepare hamburgers for my citizens
One minute I am a king !
next my citizens will serve to me .
I discovered that I'm a good king !
                            I'm a Burger King ! 

REFLECTION TASK 1A :

Hello , I' m Merve . I ' m graduated from METU - Foreign Language Education  before 8 years ago . Also , I have MA degree on literature. AND I'm a teacher who has been liked by her sweet students. - This is so important for me -

One of my dreams was playing the violin . Thanks to METU , I realized my dream . How did it happen ? When I came to METU , there were a lot of clubs . I joined one of them and I realized my dream ! ThanKs METU ! :) When I have spare time , I can't help playing my violin. In addition to this , I like listening the classical music .- maybe because of my fondness of violin :)-

I love to ride a bike , so I have never reckon how many bikes I wore off :) 

Also , I am fond of  other languages such as Spanish , Italian and Deutsch . I know them at the speaking level with natives of these languages .

And finally , I want to travel all around the world , and meet new people and learn their new languages . While I travel all around the world , I would like to someone coming along with me :)

Imagine you are a bird
It is not impossible if you believe

You may say I'm a human
I hope someday you'll believe
The world will be flying at the sky

Flying all around the world if you can
No need for gas or stations
A brotherhood of birds
Imagine all the people turn into birds

You may say I'm living in fairy tale
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll believe me
And the world will fly on the sky

PARELLELISM

*Our beagle loves to hunt.When someone opens the back door for her , she barrels down porch steps into the yard , and runs back and forth across the lawn in ecstasy. Her nose cruises the wet grass for smells of cats , rabbit smells , and other presences too subtle for human detection. She sniffs and spins her tail in quick circles which are clockwise and counterclockwise. These two activities which are sniffing and spinning always occur together.

*Although the Goverment Printing Office being the official publishing house for the federal government in Washington D.C is a source of much useful information , few people know about it. The GPO publishes pamphlets and books on a vast number of subjects ranging from the dangers of X - rays from home tv sets to the identification of mushrooms. About 27.000 publications are offered through the Superintendent of Documents , and there is no charge at all for some.

*John Astor was a German immigrant who reaped America'S first fortune . Because he was lowborn and uneducated , he made his initial money by trading Indian furs. Astor never learned to speak English properly , so he carried on his business to the end in an accent which was redolent of the Hamburgs gutters.

On a suuny day , a cat woke up . (simple sentence)
He was hungry. (simple sentence )
While he was walking around , he saw a dove which made his mouth watery. (complex sentence)
He made a lot of plans because he was starving.(complex sentence)
He tried to climb the nest and he reached his aim.(Compound Sentence)
But he couldn't find the dove in the nest..(compound sentence)
He started to wait it while the dove was flying happily in the air and tried to find meal.(compound+complex sentence)
The cat saw the dove and tried to fly like dove but he failed and unfortunately he died.(compound+complex )
